How plans and billing work on cookingplan.app.
Early access
cookingplan.app is in early access: every household gets the Household plan limits for free and no payment is collected. Before paid plans start we will update these Terms and the Billing Policy, tell you in the app, and show prices clearly before any purchase. Nobody is charged automatically, a free plan will remain available, and households that joined during early access get 3 months of the paid plan free.
Groceries are never billed by cookingplan.app: you pay the store you choose (for example Walmart or Whole Foods on Amazon) on its own site.
Who can manage billing
Only the household owner can change the plan. Editors cannot see or change billing.
How your plan changes
Your plan changes only when we receive a verified event from the billing provider. Returning from a checkout page does not by itself upgrade a household. Provider events are verified and de-duplicated, so a repeated or delayed event is applied once.
Renewal and cancellation
When live billing starts, paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel from Plan & billing; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
Payment failure
If a renewal payment fails, we will tell the owner in the app and the provider may retry. If payment is not resolved, the household moves to the Free plan.
Downgrades keep your data
Downgrading never deletes anything. If your household is over a Free plan limit (for example, more recipes or members than the Free plan allows), existing data stays readable and usable, but creating new items of that kind is blocked until you are under the limit or upgrade.
Refunds
Once live billing starts, refunds are handled case by case; contact [email protected]. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, we will honor it.
